Feng Shui Feng Shui has gained widespread popularity in the United States and around the world and is quickly becoming a part of architecture, building development, and home living. Much has been written and reported about this topic. Feng Shui is a body of knowledge that has developed and grown for thousand of years. Originally, it was the exclusive knowledge of the court meteorologists of Imperial China. The meteorologist studied medicine, geomancy, astrology, and other esoteric arts. These first Feng Shui masters used the knowledge to help common people Feng Shui is not based on any religion, mysticism, or superstition. Rather it is a mathematical science. Feng Shui is based on four aspects: Building, Environment, People, and Time. Just as the Earth is constantly moving and changing, so are the energies of Feng Shui. Modern science has shown that geomagnetics are in a constant flux. A qualified practitioner utilizes the five Chinese elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water to bring a place into an energetic balance. These elements can take the form of many objects such as a brass pot, an aquarium or fountain and crystals. The objective of the remedies is to return a natural balance of Chi (or life energy) to a building or home. Feng Shui remedies are based on the natural elements and not the objects themselves. As for avoidance of sharp angles, just as in art, rounded edges are much more beautiful and pleasing than angles. This is part of the environmental aspect of Feng Shui. Other environmental "no-no's" are having too much light or darkness. You are looking for a balanced environment. Turning on a heater to warm a cold house can be considered a form of Feng Shui from an environmental aspect. There are a lot of benefits to having a proper Feng Shui analysis performed. People have reported increases in wealth and love, and significant improvements in health. The Art of Feng Shui is the experience of how to best implement the remedies. How much, exactly where, and for how long. Feng Shui is not about making drastic changes, but making energetic improvements in your living space that will result in the best possible benefits for all who reside there. The Ba Gua diagram (literally 8 houses ) is the basic tool for Feng Shui analysis.† When a Feng Shui analysis is performed, the practitioner refers to these basic concepts to analyze the situation within each area of the building.† The trigrams hold the keys to understanding the who or what is effected by the Feng Shui of a building.† Even beyond that, certain personalities can be found in the trigrams relating to both people and their buildings. As a Feng Shui practitioner since 1994 I have personally found that by applying the Feng Shui principles, honoring sacred space, proper placement, loving self-acceptance and positive thinking, does enhance a persons life. To help you improve the life force energy in your home I am offering a few tips to get you started. Good Luck and have fun. Relationships Feng Shui plays an important part in your relationship and romance, the following are a few tips to enhance your relationships. The South West corner of your home is where love reigns and you should pay special attention to it. It governs the luck of love, romance and family happiness. If you wish to improve your existing relationship, place a family photo in your south west corner of your home, make sure it is a happy photo or even a painting of a family. Hanging a chandelier or crystal sphere/ball in the Southwest corner of your home is wonderful for activating the chi energy that stimulates romance. This introduces fire into this segment, which has Earth as its presiding element to bring love luck. Soft Lighting using soft or pastel color lampshades with soft lighting in the Southwest creates an atmosphere of romance, which in itself is known to "put you in the mood". Needless to say, harsh lighting and spotlights are definitely to be avoided here. Candles in all shapes, sizes and color are suggestive of love. Apart from giving your area a warm glow, it also enhances the entire look of your home, while enhancing romance. Remember however, to put them out so that they don't pose a fire hazard in your home. Natural crystals are one of the best symbols of mother earth. Rose quartz and yellow citrine are crystals that work well to bring you lots of love luck. Place these crystals in the form of pebbles or larger forms like the raw Amethyst in the Southwest corner of your living room to energize love.
