Prayer, Chakras and Healing
The sages tell us that for a prayer to be effective, faith in the Divine,
concentration of the mind, and positive thinking are necessary prerequisites
before, during and after the prayer. If one prays for success and at the
same time holds thoughts of failure within, the prayer will not be answered.
Sages tell us that the mind is the transmitter of prayers. Thus, a prayer
transmitted by a restless mind is akin to broadcasting over a broken
transmitter.
Place yourself in a meditative state before praying to calm restless
thoughts. Keep the body still throughout meditation. "Be still and know you
are God." To pray for healing focus attention on the ailment that is out of
balance and say a prayer mentally with the deepest devotion of your heart.
Repeat the prayer until it becomes one with your consciousness. If a prayer
is properly transmitted, God's answer appears in the form of subtle
feeling's) arising in the heart following the prayer.
If you are experiencing imbalance on the physical, emotional, or mental level locate the target area's) of discomfort in the chaka(s). Following is
a brief description of the physical, mental and emotional aspects of each.
To assist you in getting started with your healing work I have added the
following prayers relevant for each chakra. You can add your specific
healing request to make each prayer specific to your needs.
1. Root Chakra
Physical: Feet, knees, and hips, arthritis, kidney stones,
osteoporosis, bone problems and autoimmune deficiency. Emotions: Creativity,
or Anger, defensive, and fear. Mental: Belonging
While breathing in the color RED say: "I am safe and connected to mother
earth. I am creating a space for all my dreams to come into manifestation. I
have all the resources I need to make my life work now."
2. Sacral Chakra
Physical: Endometriosis, menstrual cramping, fibroids,
problems with ovaries and cervix, prostrate problems, infertility, sexual
dysfunction, and sciatica. Emotion: Pleasure or frustration. Mental: Being
/having enough.
While breathing in the color ORANGE say: "I am enough, and there will always
be enough of everything to do the things I love, and the goals I want to
complete."
3. Solar Plexus Chakra
Physical: indigestion, acid stomach, ulcers,
hepatitis, gallstones, pancreatitis, and diabetes. Emotion: Confidence &
freedom or uncertainty, doubt. Mental: Personal power.
While breathing in the color YELLOW say: "I now have the power to see my
life, my dreams, and all aspects of it come to fruition."
4. Heart Chakra
Physical: Arteriosclerosis, angina, myocardial infarction,
heart arrhythmia, stenosis of the heart and lungs, pneumonia, chronic
bronchitis, and tuberculosis. Emotion: Compassion, joy, peace. Mental: What
makes your heart sing.
While breathing in the color GREEN say: "I am love, peace, joy, light and
all goodness. I follow what makes my heart sing."
5. Throat Chakra
Physical: Sore throat, laryngitis, deafness, tooth decay,
gum problems, TMJ, neck problems. Emotions: Joy or sadness. Mental:
Expressing truth.
While breathing in the color BLUE say: "I am truth. I walk a sacred path of
integrity."
6. Brow Chakra
Physical: Migraine blindness, eye problems, glaucoma,
cataracts, brain tumors, strokes. Emotions: Appropriate expression of energy
or blocked energy. Mental: Understanding, forgiveness.
While breathing in the color INDIGO blue say: "I am wisdom, imagination,
intuition and knowledge."
7. Crown Chakra
Physical: Epilepsy, alcoholism, nervous disorders,
neurosis, insomnia. Emotions: Bliss and surrender. Mental: Knowing,
acceptance.
While breathing in the color PURPLE say: "I am one with all life."
